Surge pointed out there is widget SDK and where to get it. Don't really know if it could help you code better, but it's worth a try I guess.

Good luck man and keep us posted

Yes working on that. Can someone give a link or attach the simple digital clock widget that is pre installed in omnia hd and other omnia phones.

That would really speed up the development.

Sorry - i just replied you in a different thread. But no, i don't know how to get this widget out as a file. Only the ones you download through "more widgets" ...

I can't pull the original too, but I have this one - it's digital clock 3 from 'More Widgets' widget... if it's of any help. Just rename it back to digiclock03.wgt.

You guys know what's crazy?

I was just watching the fall CTIA demo of the omnia 2 (verizon's) and they actually have their widget store built into the OS -- and there's over 50 free widgets available for download.

If anyone here knows someone who actually has the omnia 2 and would be gracious enough to upload all of those widgets, that would be great.

It's kind of off topic, but I think the more example code we have, the easier it will be to make our own functional and asthetically pleasing widgets.
This right here shows you how much they care about the i8910 though...it's basically in the toilet and circling the drain as far as samsung is concerned :|.

....and Omina 2 has huge support from real developers being on WinMO. But really the work on different handsets is initiated by people like US. Its hardly any manufacturer jumping in to provide tweaks. So guys guess we have to use our resources and brains to make this phone a success and this forum the one place for i8910 development.

No doubt the phone and hardware is good. Lets now work on development.

Wait...screen resolution aside, would these 50 widgets work on every touchwizz? I mean, touchwizz is touchwizz.

I doubt it, which was why i asked if Omnia 2 wasn't winmo...
People have already tested winmo widgets on Omnia HD with no luck!
