Default viewing screen on a sunny day

Has anyone found it difficult to see anything on a bright day?, I have found the screen pretty poor.

DailyMobile just posted some comparison pictures of this with the Nokia 5800XM.

Check out this video:

You'll see that its just the same as an Iphone in direct sunlight.

I have a PocketLoox for off road driving and running memory map.
Anyway a few years back someone used to see those screen protectors that helped in direct sunlight - always going to be a problem unless pay lots of money for military spec glass and pump up the internal light output - which will hit the battery - mine works fine, if turn away from sun and use body shade or tree. ;D

I guess we donīt get that much light here in Finland as I think the screen is "ok" on sunny days, meaning that I can live with itīs disadvantages. Itīs not any poorer than my previous N73 screen, I think itīs almost all the same which screen you have out there in sunlight, they are all weak there. However, when I read articles about HDīs screen, they were so horrible that I came in second thoughts. Luckily, I got to test it before buying and it turned out - in my opinion - that the articles considering direct sunlight were either a problem of southern and lighter areas than where I live or then the writers were acting like divas, just to get something bad to say .

Iīd say the screen is just ok in sunlight, itīs still usable but somewhat awkward to use, as any screen.
