I agree, 18 or even 12 seems best. I found 6 or less is too low and doesn't pick up all sounds around you.
I did the firmware upgrade this morning and the audio setting was already set at 6 which means Samsung have changed it from 24.

No he meant that 24 was no good so Samsung changed the value to 6 by default..so keep it low unless you want some hideous noise on all your videos.

what are you talking about? We're all on the new firmware and the default values are 30 for ARM_AMR and 24 for DSP_AMR.

Where are you getting 6 from?

24 is standard for ARM_AMR if you haven't changed anything in this audio menu before.

Make some videos with the same conditions but with different settings and hear what suits you best. I'm currently using 18.

Unhappy what am i doing wrong

Every time i try to change the levels in the secret area in the phone it dosen't change - even when i go to back up and save. Do you think it might have something to do with when i changed the settings for the mp3 player - which I increased by 6db? would it be best to debrand and flash again - i tried a hard resett but nothing again
