I have tried changing the permissions of Virtual Windows XP.vhd without success, even though I am Administrator.
I've only just started using Windows 7, so the solution to my problem maybe my unfamiliarity with the OS.

Any thoughts? Thanks
need solution to this. I copied the vhd to another drive and give it full control still no go... if no alternative is suggestion then I will just have to dig out that XP CD somewhere then use this stupid image from MS site that just refuses to surrender writing rights! grrrr.

4. Before powering on your virtual machine go into settings and under the USB section create two new filters, leave the details blank
5. Start your virtual machine. It will finish installing XP
6. Put all of your files i.e. firmware, drivers, ROM flashing tool and MSMXL.msi Download details: MSXML 4.0 Service Pack 3 (Microsoft XML Core Services) onto a USB drive.
7. In the virtualbox window click on devices and go to USB devices and click on the USB drive. It should show upin your virtual machine.
8. Install MSMXL.msi and all of your driver files as you would normally
9. Open Symbian ROM flasher and find the files as you would normally.
10. Plug in your phone to a USB port. It should be recognised.
11. Remove it and put it into bootloader mode and reconnect. The download start button should be available to click.

12. Happy Flashing.
I've just spent the last three hours trying various ways to flash my Omnia whilst on Vista and to no avail... Steps two and three can't be done as that link is only for Windows 7 users and a member on here suggested skipping step 2 if you're using Vista but that just isn't possible... I've acquired a copy of Win XP but I don't know how to apply it here... It says your Virtual Machine will install it but that option does not come up when I power on... I'm in dire need of help .
