So I got everything up and running in xp mode. After installing all the drivers and samsung studio 7 (latest edition) when I go to connect the phone it just sits forever and then finally says that its unable to detect the phone through the usb.
I know that this is for flashing but just the simple task of connecting the phone to the samsung studio won't initialize....? Anybody else have this problem? BTW, I do have windows 7 installed and the xp mode worked perfectly but now I just can't connect. And yes on the phone its in PC Studio mode under USB connection?????????? |

Would you recommend I get one of the other "non-official" Italian or Chinese firmwares even though I have norwegian phone? |

Thanks Schniels, worked perfect after following your directions... To be a little more clear here's the deal...
For all windows 7 users, Goto - Start>Computer>local disk (C >Program files>Samsung>Samsung PC Studio 7> Then find FUS.exe, FUSUpdater.exe, and PCSuite.exe > Then right click each one of them and select >properties>compatibility> then checkmark 'Run this program in compatibility mode for' select Windows XP(service pack 3) and checkmark below 'Run this program as Administrator. Then simply run PC studio and the phone updater and after unzipping and checking software it finally told me "Your software is completely up to date, Thank you for checking" instead of all those other dreaded messages I got before. So I guess there is no need for xp after all. |

For me it was this that clinched it, and made it work:
"if your phone stuck at 27% then try to reinstall SSDN_V1.1.808.7165_SETUP_whql.exe" That file was never on my Samsung cd, or in the PCSuite updates.. |
