Exclamation Confirmed. It is a Fix. Need more UMTS settings.

Hi everybody,
Found it in Chinese forum, it is confirmed there and in our forum that there is a fix for lost 3G signal (after "NV Rebuild" or after device malfunctioning) without sending the phone to a Samsung repair center.

All that is needed is to enter correct UMTS values in fields [4] , [5] and [6] from another I8910HD phone manufactured the same day as the phone that have 3G problems.

Manufacturing/production date is in the serial number (S/N) that can be found under the battery and decoding of that number is:

S/N identification production date:
S/N code encoding the production year:
T-2002 W-2003 X-2004 Y-2005 A-2006 S-2009
S/N code encoding the month : numbers 1/2/3/4/5/6/7/8/9/A/B/C - representing the month number and A-10(October) B-11(November) C-12(December)

For example: S/N: RU4SA43142Z
S/N: RU4 [SA4] 3142Z
is : October 4, 2009

If you have yours UMTS settings/numbers from options [4] , [5] and [6] already written on paper( which is a good idea, believe me ) , or if not it is good to write them down and also post them here with your manufacturing/production date.

To get to those settings , from phone dial pad enter:

*# 197328640 #
Then select [4] UMTS RF NV
Then select [1]UMTS RF NV read
Then select [4]; [5]; [6]

Please help, post those numbers from options [4] , [5] and [6] with the production date here, the more UMTS settings/numbers we get , the more chances are that people in need will be able to fix their 3G.
If you are not sure of your phone production date , post your serial number.

You just need the three characters that come after the first 3 characters in your serial number.
