Reverse ovi store hack

I have hacked my phone to access ovi store, however i now need to download the updated bbc iplayer but it obviously thinks im an n97. Can anyone provide the original text file for me to change it back or if theres an easier way im open to suggestions

There's no need to revert back (nothing to revert), just move 'hacked' file to some other location, clean browsers cache and restart your phone. If it still don't work, then go to 10202be9/persists and delete 101f8731.cre file. Restart your phone and it should be working now and your phone agent should be i8910.

No problem at all, I had to do it to regain i8910 phone agent in the past so I simply remembered my steps

And if I delete that file how can I make my phone a N97 again?

Read carefully.

If you have custom rom that enabled this hack already, you simply use x-plore or any other 3rd party file manager with capabilities to see system drives and through that file manager you should navigate to c:\private\10202be9 folder and move 101f8731.txt to some other location. Eventually delete c:\private\10202be9\persists\101f8731.cre and after that you should delete cache in your in-built browser. Restart your phone and it should be seen as i8910.
In case this modification is already coded on Z drive (only if custom rom is coded that way!), then you should have the original 101f8731.txt and put it in c\private\10202be9 folder to actually regain original i8910 phone agent.

Hmmm doesn't seem to work for me that way.
I have a custom Hx firmware and the 101f8731.txt file in Z: says it's a sony ericsson.
I've removed the .cre file in C:......./persist and copied Fevves 101f8731.txt file in C:/private/10202be9 folder and cleared my (browser) cache.
Restarted my phone but the file in z: keeps telling me it's a Sony Ericsson.

I've tried to use c2z and that works, the file in Z: says it's a i8910 again !!
But when i dissable c2z (because ovi-store doesn't work with c2z enabled) it jumps right back to thinking it's a sony ericsson.

Any advice is appriciated.

There's no valid advice to this but to use CFW that doesn't have any such mod already built in on CFW level I'm afraid :| If you opt for 'unspoiled' CFW you get your own opportunity to mod txt file yourself if you need your phone to mimic Vivaz or N97...

Just try mounting Faenils n2o3 base if you like it having only in English It is fast, packed with essential stuff and goodies like personal hacks and mods, you get them yourself
