Default AutoROTATE The Home Screen

it is also possible to rotate the home screen on i8910 (based on sensor input)

it is not pleasant looking one but it works

just copy attached file to C:\Private\10202be9\ (needs hellox'ed phone)
Attached Files
File Type: txt 200159ed.txt (3.1 KB, 111 views)

Yep, it was there in the very first modded file by it's original author rem_dm, but it wasn't useful at all and it was really b0rked so everybody disabled it at the end...

Hi. I'm a fairly new 8910HD user (2.5 months) but I took the plunge early to n202 no task3d (thanks Faenil - really stable and quick, battery better by 30-50% by my account for my usage).

I have been using the original landscape by rem_dm as I liked the landscaped home page (although the bottom icons are small, they are still usable) in finger use.

I saw the other post (Rotate the i8910's Built-in Application by muveszur), took a chance at the patch and noticed that the home page no longer rotates. However, all the other parts worked as everyone else on the thread noted.

I did a comparison of the 2 text files - one linked in the TS's post (file name 200159ed) , the other in the muverszur thread (file name 200159ED). the TS's txt file is longer and contains additional items. Here are the differences: (the reference source is TS's file)

line : 0x100058B3 int 65536 16777216 cap_rd=alwayspass cap_wr=WriteDeviceData <THIS IS DIFF: INT 327680 on the other>

line : 0x101F8681 int 65536 16777216 cap_rd=alwayspass cap_wr=WriteDeviceData <THIS IS DIFF: 327680>

line : 0x102750F0 int 65536 16777216 cap_rd=alwayspass cap_wr=WriteDeviceData <THIS IS DIFF: 327680>

line : 0x20019536 int 65536 16777216 cap_rd=alwayspass cap_wr=WriteDeviceData <STARTING FROM THIS, ALL SUBSEQUENT LINES ARE NOT IN THE OTHER>

I'm curious if the two versions can be consolidated so both home screen rotation and all app rotation can be achieved.

I'm not a programmer so I don't know what the line codes are or what they mean. Could the programmers here tell me if what I am looking to do is possible and if so, tell me which lines go where?

for the landscape of the Homescreen, you have to change the "red" line into:

0x102750F0 int 327680

is simple
and then reboot your cell, bye

Thanks for the reply.

I don't understand your suggestion though - do you mean to edit the muverszur version text file with your change?

If that's the case, if that is successful, then the revised muverszur version will now have both homescreen rotate plus all its current features? (and that is what I want )

yes, if you take the "muvezsur`s file" and modify as how i suggest to you the red line (don`t modify the other strings), you`ll have rotating in landscape the homescreen and the other screens (not the mený)

Tested the modifications as suggested.

Recap of all my tests so far:
1. original landscape by rem_dm: home screen rotates, nothing more
2. original 'muvezsur' : all menus incl. submenus rotate but not the home screen
3. modified 'muvezsur' : home screen, all menus, all submenus rotate EXCEPT for dialer.

So far #3 is acceptable (I seldom dial with the phone on landscape anyway, except when the phone is in the car as my GPS/music player) but I'd love to get that rotating too.

Edit: I followed this too:

After overwriting "old" 200159ED.TXT (contacts rotate in messaging) with the "new" one (featured in this thread) and rebooting phone I was back to square one meaning nothing was working, not even contacts rotation in messaging.
Solution: after replacing "old" 200159ED.TXT with the new one go to c:\private\10202be9\persists and find & delete 200159ed.cre, then off/on your phone and everything works as it should

Very nice. It works perfectly with Full Page homescreen(like one from HX ROMs) + 3 extra homescreen buttons mod. (see screenshot)

Modded TXT is attached as well.
