The_Symbian_Tool 1.0 Freeware

EDIT:

version 1.22 online, LOTS of changes and bug fixes... quite stable, by reports all over



Useful tool to:

Backup, Restore, Cleanup, Edit, Optimize, Sterilize Symbian MASS MEMORY storage.

ENGLISH VERSION

note1**: CLICK ON TOP RIGHT, TO SWITCH LANGUAGE

note2***: The tools does *NOT* works in BLUETOOTH mode, but works only
with the phone connected with the USB series cable.
The phone *MUST* be connected in MASS STORAGE MEMORY mode.


features (an asterisk has ben put in side of destructive tools):

optimize data (fast symbian defrag)
backup/restore multimedia (media copy)
backup/restore everything (image copy)
*cleanup settings, applications
cleanup thumbnails
*cleanup registry
copy images
copy sounds
copy videos
*move images
*move videos

cleaning tools:

- *Jubbler -

Cleanup registry, applications, settings, cache, leave all the rest

- *Sterilizer (jubbler++) -

Cleanup registry, applications, settings, index files, cache, maps, widget, personal folders, patches,
thumbnails, dictionaries, demos, examples, downloads, games, backup settings.
Leave only photo, video and audio.

- *Regkiller -

quickly cleanup symbian registry, removes installed applications.

- Thumbkiller -

remove image thumbnails and index files

- Optimizer -

remove registry dead links, empty directories and orphans, to speedup phone.

- Quick defrag -

optimize symbian mass storage file system, to speedup file access and boot times.

- Quickbak -

Backup multimedia and personal documents in a click

- Quickres -

Restore multimedia and personal documents in a click

- Fullbak -

Backup a complete image of your symbian storage

- Fullres -

Restore a complete image of your symbian storage

- Custom transfer -

Tranfer (copy) last photos and videos from the cellular, in a click

- *Custom move -

Move last images and photos AWAY from cellular phone to PC, in a click

- *Selective files copy/move -

Choose wich files, to move or copy from the cell phone to PC and vice versa

SYMBIANTOOL.SYS (Companion)

battery.sis

reduce cpu time of idle processes, to increase battery performance

savesms.sis

saves sms into .txt files, just add the phone number of the sender
and the sms will be saved into a .txt in the root of mass storage

This looks actually pretty scary. Nobody hasn't give any opinions on firmware thread where these tools were also posted so I guess nobody hasn't tried it.

That whole image cloning and backup would be very useful thought, but this is just too expensive phone to try without further investigation

There's nothing scary here. either use it or don't if you fear you'd b0rk your phone. btw, at current stage it lacks 2 major potentially destructive features which could also be rather useful...

This tool is dangerous to your data! Lost my entire D-drive by "defraggin" (note that the defrag-app is not marked with * as "dangerous")

During process phone said "beep" every 30th to 40th second and with same frequency displayed "image file error". After 2 hours my phone stopped responding and 1 hour later Windows XP didn't respond to mouse movement or keyboard (CTRL-ALT-DEL)

Disconnected the USB and restarted phone and computer. D-drive was completely emtpy. I couldn't add files to it before formatting it!
