The UK firmware is just the updated Orange branded version.

Yeah I flashed it again last night just out curiosity, but it was the same old Orange rubbish.

Useful though incase we need to send them back under warranty

Many thanks Pavel ! I see you sourced these firmware files before share4gsm did. So they aren't the only source for us all now

Looking forward to the new update when Samsung dev labs finally release it to the service centres.

That's the reason I downloaded it, orange will refuse to honor the warrenty if it has been modified or altered in anyway.

On the debranding theme....

I've had it confirmed by Orange AND Samsung that any debranding carried out by an individual invalidates the warranty......

Will they be able to tell if it's been flashed, re-flashed etc or not...?

The reply I had from Samsung when I queried whether they would honour a faulty phone flashed with samsung's own firmware or not was:

In response to your query regarding de-branding, what I was explaining
was that any debranding done by yourself would invalidate any warranty.
If you have a manufacturing fault, then of course samsung would look at
it, however if a samsung engineer found the phone had been flashed,
unauthorised then the warranty would be invalid.
The Orange software is written on at engineering stage, and samsung OR
orange would not remove this for you. I would suggest waiting for Sim
Free / Unlocked handsets if the orange software is a hindrance to you
in some way.

The guys over at samsung.hdblog.it

for those that read Italian, see this: http://samsung.hdblog.it/2009/06/23/...d-disponibile/

seem to say a new firmware is coming out real soon:

Software version: I8910XXIF7
Software version date: 15/06/2009
Custom version: I8910ITVIE5
Custom version date: 19/05/2009
Language set: 08

Definitely the newest I've seen around...

"Apparently", according to the Italian facebook page (http://www.facebook.com/pages/Samsun...HD/77222679005), samsung are finalizing some stuff before releasing it...

ut.
