Default Is this new firmware from orange?

Hi all,

As you can see I don't post much...so this is just a heads up.

I had an email from Samsung Apps store about their new facebook page. But I noticed on the bottom of the email that our phone is compatible for the apps store, see attached picture.

So then today I thought I would check PC studio for an update...and there is one!!!! see attached picture.

Modem 18910XXJA1
PDA i8910BVJB1
I8910ORAJC1

I am going to backup and then update today.

Steve

Default Update complete

Ok, so update is complete.

I will play with it and see what the differences are.

So far only noticed three new icons:

WLAN creator - this is the same the standard wireless WLAN wizard

Oper.menu - this opens up a web page called Operator Cache tests from Operator Cache Tests - Home Page

Vid.services - this is a Nokia branded web based thing not sure what though. looking at the web address it takes you to http://testsuite.nokia-boston.com/ and I can watch some video stuff

Anyone got any ideas?

Steve

Looks like the update weve been waiting for, letters on the keypad, 3d task manager, media album kinetic scrolling etc.

Default So far ...ok

So far this firmware seems ok.

Video and pictures are good, hard to tell if any change. Video sound is better - as expected.

3D screens working.

Still not worked out these extra icons as mentioned in earlier post.

Kinetic scrolling is in most apps and menus - not as good as say Opera but ok. The picture viewers work much better, seem much quicker.

How much free C drive space and RAM you have after starting up your phone?

Default Not enough...to worry about

Hi all,

The firmware is an improvement...no issues so far. But only the stuff that you guys have seen in the Italian updates. But no access to apps store.

I think initially the RAM on C was 37MB – but looking now it is 29.1MB – can’t be bothered to reload everything- sorry.

For what I use it for this is OK, not intending to flash myself.

The phone is up for upgrade anyway but there is nothing that seems as good - even with Orange firmware on it.

Sorry no video.

How do I grab screen shots to show you these new Nokia Icons?

Steve
