I am actually using hx 2.0 and have installed java 2.02 and problem is STILL there..

Thanks, But i am on java 2.02. wasnt when i was using HX 2.0 but installed it 1st thing on 2.02 still does it. It is a shame as i love the speed features and flair the HX roms have but i think im gonna go back to Standard firmwares at least all the apps games and like worked all the time, just slower. Well they do say the tortoise beats the the hare lol

I'm having this problem with two apps. Whichever I install 2nd takes over the icon (but not the name) of the previous program. Both appear in the apps menu (but both have blue squares next to them rather than the standard gold) but when I uninstall one I can't get into the apps menu without installing one or other of them.

I've tried installing one on phone one on memory card and with/without java 2.02 but it doesn't make much difference.

did you installed the programs after installed JAVA 2.02 beta ?
that solved my Problem with Calc4M and the software that my Bank gave me to access my accounts . Both in HX2.0 and HX2.02

Cheers, sounds like Samsung has realy crippled this device, sad somewhat. I guess though with hacked firmware running Nokia PhotoBrowser or another S60v5 media library (not sure which?) would be possible. Wont install with my current firmware.

Realistically I don't understand why we have to do all this to a flagship phone that's been out for what, 9 months?

I guess it's what I did in the hx2.0

I am now at hx2.02 and I DID installed java first and application later
now everything is working great
