Cool [Utility] ROFS/ROM Viewer (and Editor!)

Decryption
This utility is aimed at replacing the RofsRomUtility I released earlier. It is essentially a GUI approach to firmware editing, providing support to add, remove or replace files in an existing ROFS image. It allows you to view the decoded ROFS or ROM header (when you are into that sort of thing). Further more it can search the an ROFS or ROM file in a few seconds, locating the specific file you need. The RofsViewer can be assigned as the default program to open .img files, the utility will detect the type of file automatically, distinguishing between ROFSs, ROMs and the specific distributor of the Image (Samsung, Nokia or Sony Ericsson).

Main Features
  • Reading Symbian ROFS and ROM images
  • Editing ROFS images using a GUI
  • Rebuilding ROFS images after modifying it
  • Searching though ROM/ROFS files

Download
Screenshots version 0.6.1 (beta 3)

The main interface.

Adding files to your ROFS image, in this screenshot the marking option was enabled.

Searching the image using wildcards (in the screenshot trying to find all INI files).

Get an overview of the changes made.

After the modifications are done, rebuild the image.

Thanks, you are great. So if I would like to add language in the rom it won't be able to brick my phone? Because with the old sw I almost brick it.

Well in the future yes, but at this moment no. The ability to make changes to the ROFS files has not yet been fully implemented. So it is really a viewer and extractor at this moment, not an editor yet.

And a totally offtopic question to the administrator to this board would be: why I am not allowed to post new topics on my original account (CodeNeos)? Grating that account posting permissions would be appreciated , hate using two accounts.
There is some issue presently in the forum pertaining to a form(new rules) that old users must accept.
Even though one accepts, posting privilages are still not reverted back, admin/mod staff is working on it (I hope :P)

And here was me thinking I had been banned . I accepted the new rules but yes my account is still locked. Hopefully it will be fixed soon, it is quite a hassle to for users that did nothing wrong.

The viewer has been updated and is now more like a full flegded editor then a viewer! It supports full ROFS rebuilding/editing with a pleasing and easy to use GUI.

Further more it now supports Sony Ericsson firmware files. Essentially meaning you can integrate part Sony's ROFS into your custom firmware! And it allows SE users to extract their ROM and ROFS files (these files have a .software extension).

Version 6.2.0 can be downloaded from media fire: rofs_viewer_6.2.0.rar.

Feel free to post suggestions for future editions!
