It has been fixed in version 0.7.1.2 which is available through the update system. Press Check For Updates in the About menu to start updating.
Further more you can now get the size (for the CSC and CODE XML files) and the MD5 by using the build in calculator. The viewer now also supports file deletion from the search results by either pressing del or right clicking and selecting remove/delete from the context menu.

Great work. Thanks all.

Sometimes md5 values are wrong. I check md5 double.

Thanks

When you rebuild the image the MD5 will change, only use the MD5 from the final image you will use.

Edit: Yes you are right the MD5 of versions 0.7.1.2 and lower are flawed, I forgot to rewind the stream.

Hi Codeneos,

I'm using your program for the first time today, with the intention of making my own custom Russian JB1 derivative.

When I open I8910XEJB1_XXE.rofs1.img using 7.0 or 7.1.2RC1 (not tried an earlier version), and immediately rebuild the image to I8910XEJB1_XXE.rofs1b.img (having made no changes) I get the following exception:

System.IO.DirectoryNotFoundException: Could not find a part of the path 'D:\Samsung i8910\Firmware\Russian JB1 Modified\PDA_Code_I8910XEJB1\core\tmp\0.build.tmp' .
.
.

... implying that the folder tmp is not being autocreated.

If I manually create the folder to fix this the processing occurs but then brings up a "File not found" dialog.

I've not tried to process any other rofs yet, but I thought you may be interested. I'll have a go at rebuilding another image.

[update]
Seems to be the same for all images. Obviously lots of people have used your program., so it must be possible to configure it correctly / have the correct folder structure!! Am I doing something wrong?

Mike

Looks like I answered my own question - the output image needs to be placed in the same folder as the executable.

Not a massive problem, but this should really be fixed - either by forcing the image to be written in the root folder or allowing the image to be written anywhere (e.g. by creating all the temp files in the root folder & then move the final image to the chosen location).

Thanks for your report, I'll think I know why this turns up. I'll fix it and push the update on-line in about a day.

New update released (0.7.6.0). Update is distributed through the update system embedded in the 0.7.x branch and will be downloaded and installed once you press Check For Updates in the About menu.

This release also fixes the issue mwarner reported above.

Changes
  • A resource viewer is included allowing you to view the contents of any RSC or RXX file in a Image. Also handles compressed Unicode strings (SCSU method).
  • Most recently opened files are stored.
  • Improvements in settings saving.

Screenshots of Resource viewer:

Fast work - thanks a lot . I was actually going to ask for a working Recent Files menu, but looks like I don't need to now!

[edit]
Looks good! New version fixes my bug & the Recent Files works fine!

While I was at it I also implemented that feature . If there is anyone interested I can also integrate a tool to apply ROM patcher files to an image.
