Default NOKIA N8 and Your views..

Okay, it's there, will come out sometime in Q3. What I liked,
1- 12 MP Camera with Xenon Flash
2- 720P Video Recording
3- AMOLED Screen
4- Symbian 3 OS ( though I highly have doubt about it )
5- Multi Touch enabled
What I didn't like,
1- HARDWARE, 256 MB RAM and 680 MHz, are they kiddin?
2- NO CAMERA LENS COVER. UNBELIEVABLE. ( if gsmarena pics are right )
3- 1200 MAh Battery and
4- 360*640 Resolution.
What are you guys thinking about?

Specs have been confirmed.

Mobile-review.com Ѕирюльки є64. Nokia N8 Ц флагман компании или разочарование года?

They sound very dissappointed with the OS. Looks like an android device in the future.

until this ****crap of plastic is out, there will be an even better phone out with probably android, xenon flash, super-amoled and 720p...

if the specs are correct, i am disappointed, but what are we talking about right now ? nokia always uses the crappiest hardware (hence the slow cpu)

looking at the preview of the N8 (and symbian^3) i'm almost certain i'm dumping symbian soon. i'm going htc, probably android.

If they zapped it with some metal, 1ghz chip, 512ram or more, maemo or meego or whatever rather than symbian, then i may consider it. Nokia must know that this is 2010 already. Those kinds of hardware are for 2009. They just doesn't make sense.

Now only 1 word for N8 - suck. It's no more than a Satio with some added features.

If Nokia continues like this, they will lose the flagship war (or maybe they have already lost it since N96)

@brrip: agree. I will also go HTC and android (get 1 more). but i will still keep the HD cuz it's still good to use.

yup i'm keeping the hd for sure, i still prefer symbian, but in terms of UI it's just too damn lousy as a daily-use phone. with symbian^3, i was hoping that would change but the N8 is just a butt ugly device with everything our phone has plus a nicer homescreen. i may as well spend 30 bucks on the SPB shell when it comes out to achieve that.

htc on the other hand, has xda-devs behind them. official support is not too bad, though nowhere as good as nokia, but the xda-devs have so many custom roms/exploits. it's like faenil or hyperx x 100000.

it doesn't look like anything special, certainly not upgrading to from the i8910

But the HDMI is great, i wonder what movie formats the phone supports. probably not .mkv, but that would be a killer function

yeah agree again. Once my friend showed me his N1 with CyanogenMod on it and it's like a different phone compared to when he had just bought it. To tell the truth i only want a phone that has custom roms or give me the freedom to customize without too many efforts/troubles. It's very fun to use and discover. It's even come to an extend that i don't even care much about official support. the HD is 1 big example(though efforts/troubles are sometimes quite big; however most of them got taken care by the great community and talented cookers/modders).

About HDMI output, the HD's prototype once had it. but somehow samsung castrated it. damn

G9 now. it's been 1h15' am here now. i'm out
