Some sites say they will release it very soon like in 2 weeks. If thats the case there is not mcuh room from improvement I think but if its in July maybe we will see a better phone. I will never forget when I get my N95 by mail a looked like a piece of gold!!! Lets hope the same! I like the specs beside the 256MB and the 600mhz CPU although our I8910 is pretty fast too. And hopefully the sound quality will be away much better than I8910!!!
Which mobile do u think will out prform N8 when the release date comes?!?

i don't see how this would be much of an upgrade though. besides the camera and the hdmi port, what is so great about this phone? the omnia hd looks visibly better than this IMO.

yeah i think these two phones similar in a few ways. the camera should be pretty sharp though and curious to see how symbian3 works too

ah, and now it has FCC approval. i really hope they change the exterior somehow. not really digging the looks. might hold out for the high performance x-series.

Anyone know what CPU this thing is using?
I would like to know if it's Arm11 or if it's a CorTex based SoC...I think it's probably a higher revision OMAP3 than the i8910, but I am just speculating at this point.

IMHO -- the HTC Evo4G owns this device by far, but if there's one thing I have learned with the i8910 is that there are so many hardcore symbian \ nokia users that there's no doubt this phone will be popular.

I am very eager to see just how good the QT integration will be in S^3 -- if it is as good as the demos then the apps for newer symbian phones should be just as good as iphone\webos\android applications. I haven't been keeping up with the news about Symbian lately so I am sure there is much to be impressed by...think I will check out youtube for some demos now.

What suprises me though is that there really isn't too much hype surrounding this phone...Nokia needs to market better and get more developers on board in order to make this a success. There was \ is more hype about the N900 than this phone and Nokia barely put any energy into it and basically considered it a project -- but surprisingly it took off and is a huge success to the geek market.

I would rather see Nokia put out a Meego handset that is atom based though...that would be very interesting But that is just my personal dislike for symbian showing though...

If it's 680mhz then there is no OMAP SoC that has CPU of that clock(omniaHD/n900 is 600;vivaz is 720, the rest is 800 or so - facts from wikipedia). And if it's arm11 then a big fail. Nokia once mentioned about a Snapdragon-Symbian device. Could be N8. But afaik CPU clock of Snapdragon (or scorpion based like the new MSM7230) is at least 768-800mhz so low chance it's a Snapdragon.

Honestly, it doesn't look that bad...I love the xenon flash and HDMI out! I guess I'll wait until it officially comes out, and see what the reviews have to say then. The best pictures taken from a phone that I've owned were with the Nokia N82 (yes, even better than the i8910), just because of it's flash. It makes a huge difference in picture quality.

That being said, the OS shown off in Nokia's promotional videos looks exactly like ours! What exactly did they change in S^3? All I know are the addition of multi-touch and the integration of Qt.
